In 2022, we made positive changes to ensure the health and safety of our employees. We also worked on increasing diversity among our leaders, introduced a new system for training and development, supported local community care, and established guidelines for our suppliers.

Stay Safe

The health, safety, and well-being of our associates is our top priority. We are committed to creating a culture of leadership and learning together to ensure everyone’s safety. At Utz, all employees are encouraged to report safety concerns without fear of blame through our Open Door Policy. We provide safety education to all employees, from our leaders to those working on the factory floor, to emphasize the importance of safety. We keep track of incidents using industry-standard measures and use near-miss reporting to identify possible risks in our manufacturing plants.

Be Yourself

Diversity, fairness, and making everyone feel included are at the heart of our human resources practices. We start by promoting inclusivity among our top leaders, and we’re happy that more women and people of color are joining our leadership team. We invest in our associates’ careers, celebrate their achievements, provide great benefits, and support their professional growth. Our new online learning platform gives our employees access to over 70,000 courses on various topics to help them develop their careers.

Give Back

Since our founding, Utz has always believed in giving back to our local communities. As we grow, we have more opportunities to support individuals and organizations in the places where we live and work. We contribute through donations, employee volunteering, and providing help in various ways. Utz has a long-standing partnership with the United Way, a large charity that addresses important social issues. In 2022, Utz and our employees took part in an internal United Way campaign. Together, we raised over $56,000 to support education, health, and other community needs.

Buy Responsibly

We believe we have responsibilities that go beyond our own operations. That’s why we collaborate closely with our suppliers to make sure that the products we use are obtained, made, and transported according to our Supplier Code of Conduct. This Code covers many important topics such as ethics, food safety, taking care of the environment, and respecting human rights.
